Print and color the worksheet and cut out the scroll. You will need 2 wooden matches that you have cut to remove the end that lights!!! (measure them to be the same length as Ezra is holding in the worksheet…as always…you should do the cutting!) Color the sticks with a brown felt pen and glue one to each end of the scroll. (If you print the worksheet on card stock the scrolls will roll up much better) Roll up each side of the scroll half way and glue or tape to Ezra’s hands. Have kids write their memory verse . I used the portion from Isaiah 66:2 but there would be many to select from. (For notes on this lesson see “aunties bible lessons” – Hear O Israel.) The words on the scroll are Shema Yisrael in Hebrew…I apologize for any misplaced jots or tittles….

“But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves , but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place, once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.” Hebrews 9: 11-12
During your lessons on Moses, please give yourself time to study the tabernacle. Hebrews 8:5 tells us that the earthly tabernacle was a “copy and shadow of the heavenly things”. God is very specific when He refers to the tabernacle or His temple. Men could never presume to come before the LORD unless he came in the prescribed manner. Make sure you go over words like “mercy” so the kids have a good understanding of this characteristic.
Note: “the Most Holy Place” is used in many translations, including KJV. “Holy of Holies” is used in American Standard version, and a few others.
To complete this lesson you will need an x-acto blade and a leaf punch, colors and glue and something to cut out Zacchaeus. If you do not have a leaf punch you may use green tissue paper or make a leaf stamp out of foam or a potato.(March 27, 2012 I gave instructions for these techniques on the lesson “Heaven” at aunties bible lessons.) Separate “Zack” from the main page. Color both sections and make sure you have slit the tree on both sides of the upper limb before class. Try and separate the arm a bit by making a tiny slit around “Zach’s” fingers so it will look like it is grasping the limb after he is cut out.(see sample) Use a green marker or crayons and color the space around the figure that will be cut out. This will be made into leaves with the leaf punch. Try and have some extra leaves punched out so there will be plenty to glue on the tree. Glue Zach in place first before adding the leaves. Have the kids write out Luke 19:10…for notes on this lesson see “aunties bible lessons” 7/2/2013.
(I highly recommend this purchase…you will use it for many lessons …check out the sale tables in craft or scrap-booking stores… I got mine for 25 cents!)
